Background

Since winning the Transport for London Face–to–Face Marketing contract we have been instrumental in introducing Oyster to the travelling public. We have provided promotional staff at underground, bus and national rail stations, at special events, on buses and on the street.

  • Introducing Oyster monthly, weekly, pre-pay, Child Oyster, and Under 18s Oyster through successive leaflet distribution campaigns.
  • Increasing awareness within the business and leisure market by targeted leaflet distribution.
  • Encouraging conversion from paper tickets to Oyster and reducing cash usage by the distribution of Oyster cards to low user groups.
  • Providing assistance and an Oyster Information service at busy underground stations during peak periods.

Result

We have successfully contributed towards the growth of Oyster which accounts for 76% of journeys made in the capital with 6.2 million active cards in circulation. We have also been able to provide Transport for London with valuable feedback giving them an insight into the public’s perception of Oyster and enabling them to address user problems.
